For a successful understanding of its environment, the Okavango Delta often needs committed individuals on the ground to navigate its meanders and channels to continually collect data, analyze and report findings. Kaelo Makati is one member of this committed ground force. He is Senior Technician (Environmental Monitoring Unit) at the Okavango Research Institute (ORI) with at least 8years experience. Before joining ORI, Kaelo was a professional guide with Uncharted Africa Safari Co. Kaelo has been instrumental in the multiple environmental monitoring missions into and around the Delta and volumes of data collected by ORI. He is a Zoology graduate with the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville AR, USA. His training includes Animal Physiology and Ecology, and Environmental Conservation.
